Zivame Women are those who do the #UnRoutine. They refuse to live life by the rule book, and find their own way to be extraordinary. Whether it’s diving into the depths of the ocean or leaving behind a flourishing career to follow their dreams, Zivame Women love to do the unexpected to discover their unique moments of delight!
Sonia is our first Zivame Woman. She lives in Bangalore, but you’ll often find her travelling through various parts of a world. She’s a certified Scuba diver, and a trained pianist. Sonia finds inspiration in the people she meets and the experiences she has, and strives to make each day different from the other. Here is a what our first Zivame Woman had to say.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My motto in life is Carpe Diem – seize the day! I always try to live each day to the fullest. My day job is in marketing, but I love to spend my time doing other things I love too – like travelling, scuba diving, exploring different parts of the world, listening to new music, and lots more!
How do you manage to do the #UnRoutine?
It’s very easy to get caught up in daily monotony. But I believe that every day should be unforgettable. So, I like trying new experiences which help me break away from the routine. Whether it’s trying a new type of cuisine, meeting someone new, learning a new instrument or just watching an interesting play, I always look for new and interesting things to do that will make each day memorable!
How do you maintain a work-life balance?
I feel like you need to do something besides your daily work to find inspiration for creativity. So, I make it a point to find time away from work to also indulge in the activities I love. That’s what keeps me motivated at work and in life!
How did you find your passion?
I’ve always loved to experiment and I never liked doing the same things as everyone else. At a very young age, I wanted to act, so I participated in plenty of plays. I’ve also always loved music; so, I decided to learn how to play the piano. Today I’ve completed the 3rd Grade piano exam in music from Trinity College London. I even fell in love with Scuba diving and now I’m a certified rescue diver! Just trying different things opened new doors for me, and that’s how I could find my true passion for life.
Who’s your role model? And where do you find your strength and support?
I find my strength in all the people around me – my loving family and incredible circle of friends. My role model is my mother, who has been always been a working woman and has shown me how to perfectly balance work and life.
What makes you feel confident?
There are so many things – meeting new people, travelling, doing well at work! Even the kind of lingerie I wear can make me feel confident!
What’s your favourite kind of lingerie?
I feel the lingerie your wear makes a world of difference; it is the most intimate thing for a woman and it can affect how you feel from the inside. I love how lingerie makes you feel sensuous and feminine when it caresses your skin and I find sexy lingerie very exciting!
Where do you find those unexpected moments of delight in your life?
In trying out something new and discovering how much I love it! It’s an exhilarating feeling when you find a hobby that you never knew about, or never expected to like. My delight of the unexpected lies in discovering something new that I love, every day!
