There are a few silly things we all do. As a woman trying to juggle personal and work life, there are bound to be some short cuts that creep into our routine. Unfortunately, those small misses could wash away all the thought you\u2019ve put in your dressing.
\nTake the habit of wearing your scrunchie on your wrist as an example. Sure, it\u2019s functional. We\u2019re always losing those colourful elastic bands and we only seem to realise it when we need it the most. But after dressing up impeccably for work, a scrunchie peeping out of your cuff can ruin the look.<\/p>\n

But that’s not all; here\u2019s a list of faux pas we\u2019re all guilty of:<\/p>\n

#1 Not tailoring your clothes <\/span><\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t implying that you hire your own personal seamstress. But even store-bought clothing needs minor tucks and trims. Clothing stores operate on manufacturing their products in standard sizes. You will need to make small adjustments like hemming, putting darts or taking in the waist. #2 Not checking labels<\/span><\/p>\n

Read instructions for wash and care of clothes when you purchase them. Following these will increase the life and preserve the look of your favourite dress. #3 To be or not to be sexy<\/span><\/p>\n

Dressing sexy can be a confusing task. Deciding how much skin-show is too much is a very personal choice. It depends primarily on what you are comfortable with. But a rule of thumb suggests that you either go for a short hemline or a plunging neckline. Avoid opting for both.<\/p>\n

#4 Super heavy bags<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, you want to carry your world with you. But it\u2019s unlikely to fit into your designer handbag. Try to weigh your handbag so you aren\u2019t straining your back and ruining your perfect posture. And we can\u2019t stress this enough, do a cleanse and get rid of clutter from your bag once every month.<\/p>\n

#5 Choosing heels too high<\/span><\/p>\n

You may be comfortable wearing four-inch heels for a party but will that still stand after a gruelling 12-hour work day? Take a call and ask your heels to take a step down.\u00a0For everyday wear, choose heels that look formal without causing back pain in the long run.<\/p>\n

#6 Wearing the wrong underwear<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a complete no-no. No matter how well you are dressed, the wrong bra could ruin the ensemble and panty<\/a> lines are the new unforgivable fashion faux pas. #9 Over-accessorising<\/span><\/p>\n

We have to take the advice of fashion icon Coco Chanel here. She suggested taking a spin in front of the mirror just before leaving the house. The first thing that catches your eye has got to go. Remember, too much bling is not a cool thing.<\/p>\n

Woman, you are beautiful just the way you are. Trying to hide the holiday weight under clothing that is two sizes too big will only end up making you look frumpy. Dress to accentuate your figure, and find pieces you\u2019re comfortable in, and you\u2019ll always look great!<\/p>\n
