Honestly, Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty was a mixed bag but not in the way the writers probably intended. The central love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah? Exhausting. And paired with Taylor? Absolute gold. Their chemistry is effortless, their connection feels real, and finally, there’s a couple that doesn’t make us want to throw things at the screen. They’re the relationship we’ve been quietly rooting for all along.
And okay… can we talk about Belly moving to Paris? Like, she literally just hops on a plane with a backpack, a suitcase, almost no money, and no visa, and the show treats it like a casual weekend getaway. Moving abroad is usually a massive life event, but here it’s barely acknowledged, just another plot device for our heroine’s “self-discovery.” It’s ridiculous, but also kind of funny in that over-the-top teen-drama way.
So what do we want for the next season (because let’s be real, maybe this saga has run its course)? More Steven and Taylor, fewer overly complicated love triangles, and maybe a bit more reality sprinkled into these so-called life-changing decisions.
Honestly, it might be time to go back to cutesy romcoms, the world desperately needs them and leave these convoluted, melodramatic relationships behind.
