UncategorizedTit-bits Every Mom Gives Her Daughter

Moms are sages, dripping with knowledge. From valuable life lessons to girly tips and tricks, almost all our impressions about the world come from her. Here are a few things that she screamed herself hoarse about, but you never listened to her (although you really, really should have)!

Oil your hair or your head becomes bare!

My mom always loves scaring me with this line. But I can’t deny that sitting on the floor, with her massaging coconut oil into my hair, takes me straight to the seventh heaven. It should also be noted that my hair looks more glorious than Beyonce on stage when I wash the oil off.

Always keep a banana, no matter where you are!

Although it’s time you followed literally everything mother says, one piece of advice you shouldn’t ever ignore is this one! This quick-to-eat and easy-to-digest fruit is a great way to beat hunger and fatigue if you’re running around doing chores or rushing off to work.

Choose comfort over trends, you’ll look a hundred times prettier!

Somehow, when I buy lingerie that’s ‘trending’ (without really caring about the fit), my mom instinctively knows it’s going to be uncomfortable. And when I defy her and wear it anyway, I end up wishing I hadn’t! The pained look on my face is the precursor to her I-told-you-so face.

I guess one really should listen to moms when they say that prioritizing comfort, by first choosing lingerie that fits right, makes the whole outfit feel a lot prettier!

A good night’s sleep is your biggest ally the next morning!

How many times have you stayed up finishing that big PPT only to have your mom constantly nag you to go to sleep? Yup, countless. You may shush her at that point but when you find it difficult to keep your eyes open the next day, mom’s words seem on point, don’t they?

There’s really nothing better than a night of deep sleep to make you feel energized and ready to take over the world the next day! But don’t forget to stock up on comfy jammies or sleep dresses to make the slumber 100x better.

If you’re tensed, hit the music and Dance it out!

When I was a kid and I was worried about a test, my mom would turn on a groovy, disco number and get me to dance with her. And voila, I would forget all about it!

This, thankfully, is a mommy mantra that I’ve followed always. Whenever I start getting nervous about work or start worrying about life, I just slip on my Zelocity leggings and a t-shirt and dance around like I’m a kid again! Amazingly enough, I feel great after it.

Moral of this story? Mothers do know best!
