UncategorizedLet’s Bust Some Health Myths This World Health Day

When it comes to lingerie and women’s health, there are too many myths floating around. This is why we’ve decided to weigh in and tell you fact from fiction! And also, it’s World Health Day today and there can be no better time to bust some myths once and for all.

Myth 1: Sleeping in a bra will keep your breasts perky

We were appalled when some women during a fitting session revealed that they sleep in their bra so as to keep their breasts perky. We spoke to our fit advisor about this and found out that this isn’t anywhere close to the truth. She also adds that the right way to maintain the shape of your bust is to eat healthily and wear a right size bra on a daily basis.

Myth 2: Bras, underwired bras specifically, cause cancer

Wearing a bra has been widely rumored to increase the risk of breast cancer. Rumor has it that bras block the drainage of lymph fluid from the bottom of the breast. So we decided to get to the bottom of this and after some serious research, we found out that there’s nothing that links bras, be it underwire or dark colours, with breast cancer.

According to breastcancer.org, “Underwire bras do not cause breast cancer. Only one scientific study has looked at the link between wearing a bra and breast cancer. There was no real difference in risk between women who wore a bra and women who didn’t wear a bra.”

Myth 3: Wearing a bra will cause your breasts to sag

On the other end of the spectrum is the fact that bras actually prevent sag. If you’re struggling with this issue, wearing an underwired bra or a no-sag bra from our TrueCurv Collection will make sure that your bust doesn’t appear droopy!

Myth 4: A woman’s bra size rarely changes

Not to sound philosophical or anything but change is the only constant. From hormonal ups and downs to change in weight, our bodies are constantly undergoing something. So it’s safe to say that a woman’s bra size changes 6 times, on an average, throughout her life. So if you’re wondering if you need to get fitted, the answer is probably YES!

So now that we’ve cleared the air, feel free to pick a sexy style you love without any apprehensions!
